While we are constantly surrounded by radiation, environmental radiation hazards are much less common. Thus, when a hazard arises, it typically elicits a strong community response and requires unique technical experience to characterize and mitigate. This webinar will be a primer to improve your understanding and fluency of the unique issues related to radioactivity hazards. Even though radioactive hazards are encountered infrequently, it is still important to have a basic knowledge of the topic to ensure significant issues are identified, and the correct steps are taken early on to avoid worsening conditions.
Dr. Nathan Epler is a Principal Hydrogeologist and Geochemist with Roux with 28 years of experience in site assessment, site remediation, chemical fate and transport evaluations, and computer modeling, who is also an expert in radionuclide geochemistry. Dr. Adam Love is a Vice President and Principal Scientist with Roux who typically addresses environmental forensics questions regarding the source, timing, and PRP allocation of contamination, including radionuclides; he has extensive experience with radiation and radioactivity assessment.
