ABA Joint Regional CLE Program: Roux to Speak & Sponsor

Wednesday, January 29 – Thursday, January 30 The American Bar Association (ABA) is hosting their Environmental & Energy, Mass Torts, and Products Liability Litigation Committees’ Joint Regional CLE Program virtually. This program, for which Roux is a sponsor, is seeking 7.5 CLE credit hours in 60-minute states and 9 CLE credit hours in 50-minute states.

On Thursday afternoon, Roux’s Catherine Boston, MPH, DABT of our Massachusetts office will be speaking on a panel entitled Emerging Chemicals: From Microplastics to “Forever Chemicals.” In addition to the “forever chemicals” and lead from aging drinking water infrastructure often in the news, research in many parts of the world is focused on emerging pollutants including pharmaceuticals, hormones, personal care products, and newer industrial chemicals.

Current environmental data on antibiotics, steroids, pesticides, microplastics, and more, will be discussed, as this panel outlines persistent bio-accumulative and toxic materials (PBTs) and what might inform the next generation of laws, regulations, and litigation.
