Major Developer; Massachusetts
Roux provided full-service environmental consulting services to assist in the acquisition, pre-development, interim use, and future development of a 12-acre assemblage of multiple commercial and industrial properties in South Boston. Roux's responsibilities for this project included due diligence assessments, Hazardous Building Materials (HBM) support, completion of multiple assessments, and Licensed Site Professional (LSP) services in accordance with the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP). Additionally, Roux successfully negotiated with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) for the approval and completion of a Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) risk-based cleanup, including waste characterization and coordination, to allow for the interim use of a 6-acre parcel within the assemblage.
As part of the planned redevelopment activities, Roux performed in situ waste characterization sampling to pre-characterize excess soils for disposal facility acceptance. Roux successfully petitioned waste facilities to accept appropriate soils for disposal.
