How Updated New York State Solid Waste Regulations May Impact Your Redevelopment Sites

Tuesday, May 14th at 11am EST • Presented by: Charlie McGuckin, Vice President/Principal Engineer

In late November 2017, the NYSDEC Part 360 Solid Waste regulations were changed dramatically. The regulations fall under the Division of Materials Management which enforces landfills, waste transfer facilities, construction and demolition debris facilities, recycling centers, and waste transporters, among others.

A primary purpose of the new regulations is to regulate fill material and construction and demolition debris from New York City to prevent unacceptable material from ending up in topsoil and other commercial products intended for reuse. As such, these regulations also significantly impact redevelopment sites. This webinar will discuss the materials handling requirements that must be followed to comply with the new regulations. Topics will include beneficial use determinations, waste tracking procedures, transporter permitting, and determination of when exemptions may be applicable.
