Q4 CSR Update 2024
Check out our charitable fundraising events from the end of the year out of our New York headquarters below.
Roux 10th Annual Fundraiser
After raising well over $100k in donations over the past decade, we chose to celebrate by letting our office vote on which non-profit organization we’d support for our New York annual fundraiser in 2024 and beyond. The poll winner was Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, a local hospital near and dear to our office, offering the most advanced pediatric specialty care in the region. With more than 180 pediatric physicians available in over 30 pediatric specialties, Stony Brook Children’s offers a full range of medical services to support the physical, emotional, and mental development of infants, children, and young adults.
On Saturday, September 21 at The Nutty Irishman in Farmingdale, NY, Roux, as well as our family, friends, and partners, came together for a night of food, drink, and raffle prizes to benefit Stony Brook Children’s. Same as our past fundraisers, 100% of proceeds benefitted the organization. We raised $16,000 for this valuable cause. Members of our office presented the check in person at the hospital, where we learned our proceeds would benefit Stony Brook’s Child Life Program. Roux continues supporting Stony Brook Children’s to provide therapeutic, educational, and recreational activities to meet the emotional and developmental needs of children during their hospital stays.
Christodora Campfire Gala
On Wednesday, October 23, we spent a night celebrating Christodora: Nature, Learning, and Leadership at their annual Campfire Gala with some of our valued friends and partners. Christodora has served under-resourced communities across New York City for over 125 years. They provide opportunities for young people to learn about the environment and experience the natural world first-hand. As part of their program, two Christodora students shared their experiences, making for a wonderful evening of community and joy.
As shared by our friends at Sive, Paget & Riesel, “Roux has been a great champion of Christodora’s important work, and the truly inspiring campfire stories shared at the event highlight how outdoor experiences have changed so many lives for the better.” We look forward to our continued partnership with Christodora, supporting our shared goals of upholding environmental education and conservation.
Halloween Fundraisers
Our NY office took part in two more fun, annual fundraising traditions in late October. First, we had our Halloween dog walk, where participants and their dogs put on costumes to march in the Halloween parade at the Old Westbury Gardens on Sunday, October 27. This fundraiser benefitted Bobbi and The Strays, a no-profit, no-kill animal shelter in Freeport, NY. Participants provided dog/cat food, toys, leashes, and blankets, as well as monetary donations.
On Halloween day, our offices in Islandia as well as New York City participated in some Halloween fun by wearing a costume, costume accessories, or festive colors to the office and at home. In turn, Roux made a monetary donation for every person dressed up. The beneficiaries of this fundraiser included Bobbi and the Strays, the Asheville Humane Society, and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Though not based in NY, our office felt compelled to support both Asheville and Tampa Bay, areas affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
