Roux Office Spotlight: Southern California
Roux Southern California was established in 2011. Our goal from day one was to bring people with diverse backgrounds together who were aligned with our culture of providing solutions to complex challenges. Today, we have two offices in Southern California—Burbank and Long Beach—and nearly forty employees with distinct skillsets, dedicated to servicing clients on the West Coast and beyond.
Nancy Anglin joined Roux as a Principal Engineer in 2023 with over twenty-eight years of experience in the environmental consulting industry. Her experience includes over twenty years supporting Public Sector clients with environmental issues on Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs) and other projects. Nancy received her undergraduate degree in Geological Engineering from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada and undertook additional Graduate Studies in Civil Engineering at the University of New Brunswick in New Brunswick, Canada. Her experience includes investigating construction projects for waste management and worker safety requirements, evaluating properties to be acquired to determine the environmental liability the purchaser may be acquiring, and reviewing costs associated with investigation and remediation. Nancy is a great new addition to the Roux team, acting as Operations Manager of both our Long Beach and Burbank offices in Southern California.
Jay Shipley joined Roux as a Principal Engineer and National Director of Public Sector Services in 2022. This year, he was promoted to lead Roux’s National Industrial Sector. Jay’s technical experience covers a broad spectrum of engineering consulting activities, including managing and leading large public sector programs, directing multimillion-dollar global private sector industrial accounts, and leading complex projects with integrated services and solutions. He has been instrumental in the award of several new public sector contracts across Roux and is currently acting as the Program Manager for our On-Call Environmental Services contract with the County of Los Angeles Public Works. Jay also sits on the board of the U.S. Green Building Council Los Angeles (USGBC-LA).
One of the founding members of our Southern California office, Mauricio Escobar has been with Roux since 2011. He encompasses twenty-five years of experience designing, managing, and implementing environmental soil and groundwater investigations and remediation strategies for public and private clients. Mauricio’s clientele includes local and national development and investments firms, as well as real estate attorneys and insurers, who rely on his significant experience with land development projects during acquisition, divestiture, and redevelopment. Mauricio has a wide range of experience with all aspects of environmental considerations for land acquisition, entitlement, and construction and is a respected member of the environmental industry. He also has significant knowledge of and established relationships with regulatory agencies and a detailed understanding of the regulatory process as pertaining to real estate development.
