Roux to Present at Vapor Intrusion Conference
Sunday, November 5 – Wednesday, November 8 The Association of Vapor Intrusion Professionals (AVIP) is hosting their Second Vapor Intrusion Conference in New Orleans, where regulators, attorneys, and consultants come together establishing the best practices to provide soil gas safe communities. The Association prides itself in the exchanging of ideas, lessons learned, and the formulation of best practices that will help guide the regulatory framework and the future of the vapor intrusion industry.
On Tuesday, November 7, Roux’s Matthew Nelson, PE (Senior Engineer II in Burbank, CA) and Ariel Newman, MS (Senior Scientist I in Burlington, MA) will be presenting a Technical Session on VI Risk Evaluation and Agency Coordination for Industrial Development of Former Power Plant.
This case study reviews a site in Southern California that operated as an electrical power generating facility for 65 years, acquired for redevelopment into commercial/industrial use. Roux performed a human health risk screening evaluation (HHSE) to evaluate potential risk related to future industrial use at the Site and to satisfy California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) requirements. The presentation will delve further into the site background, approaches taken, and results/lessons learned.
